I like Promised Neverland but I'm not gonna lie, the way they portrayed sister Krone was straight up racist and stereotypical. She was made to look like one of those racist caricatures of black people and though her back story was great, the charecter design was not it.

Little thread: I had a patient today who was a little elderly black woman. She was telling me that she really didn’t want to go to the hospital because her hair wasn’t done and she notices that yt doctors and nurse treat her differently when her hair is done vs. when it isn’t.

This idea of ignoring race in order to “not be racist/discriminatory” could often be extremely harmful. What we need in the book industry is awareness. Not people voluntarily ignoring reality. 5/5

To have your MC have a Black partner who they’ll eventually leave for a character of their own race “coincidentally” is negligent. It’s problematic. It’s uncomfortable. It’s a whole list of words we don’t have time for. 4/
