This wasn’t the worst of it. Not by a long stretch - but - the memory of those chicken bones still make me angry to this very day. They signified how little he gave a shit.

I’m writing a monologue about it. And it’s why I’m up at 1.22am. It’s bothering me.

25 years ago I had the misfortune to live with a man who was so selfishly drunk every night (for 10 years) that he would drop a trail of fried chicken bones around the house - I would walk downstairs and they’d be there in a morning. The first thing I’d see.
