Our volunteers identified the Three-nerved Sandwort (Moehringia trinervia) at Oysters Coppice today.

The white dainty flowers bloom from June to August and are only 6mm in diameter! 😲

A busy day for the #ProjectPeewit team monitoring some of our core Lapwing sites. We have birds at all stages of breeding from incubating eggs all the way to young almost ready to fledge. We also visited a new site and were able to ring another chick

Today was spent monitoring Tree Sparrows in South Wiltshire. The population here has crashed in the last couple of years making each of these chicks even more precious.

Today was a good day, spent the morning monitoring Lapwing for #ProjectPeewit in the North Wessex Downs (can you spot the chicks) this afternoon was spent biking on Salisbury Plain monitoring Curlew (6 pairs observed) and I saw my first Swifts of the year this evening

Spending the afternoon out monitoring some of Wiltshire's last breeding Curlew as part of #WorldCurlewDay; also enjoyimg some lovely weather. Sadly Curlew numbers across the county have crashed by around 90% in just a few decades. We are hard to try and save them.

This Saturday we celebrated #PlantAppreciationDay by showcasing some of our favourite ancient woodland indicator species from the Ancient Woodland Inventory Update 🍃

Although sometimes overlooked, these species have a vital role to play in our understanding of our woodlands 🌳
