These little buggers β pun intended β can really take a bite out of your roses. If you think you see a Japanese beetle, snap a photo and report it at https://t.co/nj5a7RhxEs
@PNWAgNetwork Correct. There are no plans for a statewide eradication effort. Our role is limited to confirming the first-in-state and first-in-county detections. WSU and DNR are the go-to resources for landowners for plans on how to prepare for and respond to EAB introductions.

Last month I requested federal relief for farmers in Okanogan County who faced significant damage to their apple, pear, cherry and stone fruit orchards due to severe spring frost.
Iβm grateful to announce that U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins granted that request and issued a Secretarial disaster designation. This enables farm operators in the affected area to apply for Farm Service Agency emergency loan assistance.
Help shape the future of our website! WSDA is redesigning its website and is looking for WA farmers, producers, ag businesses, and community members to participate in a feedback session.

As always, when disaster strikes, be careful about where you give to help wildfire victims. Fake fundraising accounts can pop up. It is usually best to give to known, established aid organizations.
We are saddened to see the numerous wildfires that have destroyed homes and land. While WSDA doesn't have a wildfire recovery fund, we do have information on preparing for and responding to wildfires and have compiled resources for those impacted at https://t.co/PyDipigb69.
RELEASE: WAFOOD6 survey reveals how strained food budgets are impacting Washington households. This study was conducted by University of Washington and Washington State University, with support from WSDA.
