On June 5th Israel attacked the home of world famous Lebanese sea turtle conservationist Mona Khalil. Mona was hospitalized with burns and injuries to over 70% of her body.

Yesterday, June 19th, Mona died from her injuries.

This wasn’t an accident. They didn’t make a mistake. Mona’s home was also where she ran her sea turtle conservatory- which she aptly named the Orange House Project- because, after all, her house was painted top to bottom in a deep, bright orange, the color of a late summer sunset.

The Orange House Project has been in operation for almost 30 years. You can find it on Facebook and Google Maps, along with dozens of reviews from visitors over the years.

So no, it wasn’t an accident or a mistake. Israel knew exactly what it was doing when it bombed the Orange House Project on June 5th.

It’s exactly what they’ve been doing since the war with Iran started: ethnically cleansing all of Southern Lebanon so they can steal the land and occupy it for themselves.

St. Padre Pio is reminding us of something many people forget: temptation is not the same thing as consent.

Sometimes we hear accusations in our minds. We feel discouraged, attacked, or weighed down by guilt. We wonder if something is wrong with us because the battle feels so intense. But Padre Pio says the opposite can be true. If you're fighting against temptation, resisting sin, and trying to stay close to God, the struggle itself may be evidence that your heart still belongs to Him.

The devil does not waste much effort on a soul that has already surrendered. The loudest battles often happen when someone is trying to follow Christ faithfully. Scripture tells us to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). That means the fight is not proof of failure. It can be proof that you're still standing.

So don't panic every time you're tempted. Don't assume every spiritual struggle means you're losing. The real danger is not being tempted. It's becoming comfortable with sin and no longer fighting it.

Be honest: have you ever mistaken temptation for failure?

Someone you know may need this reminder more than you realize.

Dat was zo'n acht jaar geleden... maar niemand leek zich erom te bekommeren... Chef Jamie Oliver heeft een rechtszaak gewonnen tegen 's werelds grootste fastfoodketen.

Oliver demonstreert hoe hamburgers worden gemaakt.

Volgens Oliver worden de vette stukken vlees "gewassen" met waterstofammoniak en vervolgens gebruikt om de hamburger in de vleespasteiverpakking te vullen. Zelfs vóór dit proces, zegt de tv-presentator, was dit vlees ongeschikt voor menselijke consumptie.

Oliver, een radicale activistische chef-kok die de strijd aanbindt met de voedselindustrie, zegt:

"We hebben het over vlees dat als hondenvoer wordt verkocht en vervolgens aan mensen wordt geserveerd. Naast de kwaliteit van het vlees is ammoniumzuur schadelijk voor de gezondheid." Oliver noemt het "het roze mestproces".

Welk weldenkend mens zou een stuk vlees dat in waterstofammoniak is gedrenkt in de mond van een kind stoppen?

In een ander initiatief demonstreerde Oliver hoe kipnuggets worden gemaakt: Nadat de "beste delen" zijn geselecteerd, wordt de rest – vet, huid, kraakbeen, ogen, botten, kop, poten – onderworpen aan een Mec-Split-mengsel genaamd Canica – een eufemisme dat door voedselingenieurs wordt gebruikt. Deze bloedroze pasta, die wordt ontgeurd, gebleekt, opgefrist en opnieuw geverfd, wordt vervolgens door bloem gehaald en gefrituurd. Het blijft in normaal gesproken gedeeltelijk gehydrogeneerde oliën, oftewel giftige stoffen.

De voedselindustrie gebruikt ammoniumwaterstof als antimicrobieel middel, waardoor McDonald's vlees in zijn hamburgers kan gebruiken dat ongeschikt is voor menselijke consumptie.

Nog alarmerender is echter het feit dat deze op ammoniumwaterstof gebaseerde stoffen wereldwijd in de voedselindustrie worden beschouwd als "legale componenten van het productieproces", met de goedkeuring van de gezondheidsautoriteiten. Consumenten zullen dus nooit weten welke stoffen er in hun voedsel zitten.
