I actually feel so bad for the Moniepoint guy on how he mishandled the employability reference he made about young Nigerians the other day.

You cannot say your company cannot get to hire 500 capable hands in the whole of Nigeria when international companies are filled with Nigerians changing the narratives all over the place.

That being said, we must continue to criticize issues constructively rather than simply cook up narratives just because we want to cancel people who have had significant impacts in the society.

Yesterday night, I came across one of the invoices for salary payment from the company and I wondered where the narrative that they are paying peanuts came from.

Turns out basic monthly salary for an entry level worker is about 400,000 which is in addition to several packages running into millions per annum. Far above average minimum wage and very close to some of the country’s leading employers.

Beyond setting people up for drags, we must continue to stay on facts and use our platforms to promote accountability rather than bring down impactful individuals simply because they made some mistakes.

Segun has erred in calling our hardworking youths lazy, agreed. What we must not do is add unnecessary propaganda to this whole situation unless it is coming from a place of envy.
