Some good news the morning, showers are working in from the west!

The Brantley County fire is at about 22,600 acres and is 32% contained.

The fire in Clinch/Echols County has grown to over 32,500 acres and is 23% contained.

The wind will be from the south to start, pushing smoke north again today.

Drought conditions continue to worsen across Georgia and South Carolina. Savannah is almost at a 9" rainfall deficit for the year.

The Brantley County fire is at ~4,400 acres & is 15% contained.

The wind will be from the south, pushing smoke north again. The thickest smoke will be over our inland communities.

Wildfire smoke will be present again today.

The wind could push the smoke from the south back toward Savannah midday.

The biggest fire is in Brantley County, at about 5,000 acres and only ~10% containment.

The fire near Baxley is around 40 acres in size, but mostly contained.

Air quality isn’t the best today due to wildfire smoke. 🔥

The smoke will linger near the coast this morning, pushing inland this afternoon and evening.

Please don’t burn . High pressure overhead will keep smoke near the surface when the wind dies down.
