I wrote this one in late-2021, in the middle of what was quite literally a Scottish Tropical Thunder Storm. Maybe I’m being dramatic but it was baaaadddd. /1

We were honestly stunned when @bbcintroducing chose it as their Track of the Week when we released it. Hearing @shereencutty and @phoebeih describe it as “the most irritatingly catchy” song they’d ever heard was life affirming (and funny). /5

5) just made sense. This one is quite literally for you. We open every show on it and it's by far our favourite one live. The drums and rhythm are my favourite in any of our songs and I love the sassiness of the lyrics. Even if I'm probably the last person who suits saying them.

3) In Party People I wanted to be the cool guy, the hero, the one who swaggers into the room and is treated like a king. I kinda hope our shows are like that a bit... although I usually break character immediately when I can't stop smiling at you screaming...

4) Scott's name? I'll take it. He's the handsome one, I suppose. This song has actually had more versions and drafts than anything else we've ever written. I think we were on Version 9 before we finally got it right. 9 versions, 9 different names, before "Party People"

2) stare at a wall, bed, repeat x120 days. The lyrics came to me when I was struggling a bit with meaning and identity. Like everyone else in the world, life just... stopped. So I guess I needed an alternate universe where I could do what I want. So I created one.
