No, you don't get it.
He does not have $1 trillion sitting in cash, it is 99% stock in his companies.
To make that wealth liquid would mean selling all that stock which would swiftly destroy *both* the companies (Tesla, SpaceX, others) and the wealth. If he sold it all, he'd end up with maybe $100b max, several hundred thousand people would be out of work, the companies ruined and many of their suppliers also ruined.
Okay, but now Elon has $100b in cash, and can "solve the world's problems".
$100b divided by the world's 8 billion people is $12
If you were in charge, several of the most innovative industrial companies in the world would be destroyed, hundreds of thousands out of work, and space would again close to human civilization for another generation.
But everyone on earth could have one nice meal and you could revel in your altruism.
Affogatos teach you that life is to be celebrated. The sweetness of ice cream pairs perfectly with the vitality of espresso. Leaves you tastefully buzzed. It's one of those desserts that elevate the human experience.
This is a breathtaking photograph of "gravitational waves" — but not the cosmic kind. These are atmospheric gravity waves, a fascinating (and confusingly named) phenomenon that ripples through our planet’s skies like invisible ocean swells.Instead of warping spacetime, these waves shuttle momentum upward from the churning troposphere into the calmer stratosphere and mesosphere. They’re triggered when strong winds crash over mountain ranges, race past weather fronts, or spiral outward from powerful https://t.co/erDOxbzMMD this stunning image captured by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the NOAA-20 satellite, you can see dramatic gravity waves radiating like perfect concentric ripples from a raging typhoon on the night side of Earth. The waves become visible thanks to the faint, ethereal glow of airglow — a natural luminescence in the upper atmosphere — turning the invisible into something truly mesmerizing. It’s a reminder that even the air above us is alive with hidden waves, constantly reshaping our atmosphere.
"immigrants" as a package deal that includes all the welfare dependent parasites, rapists, stabbers, scammers, cheats and other redundant, burdensome biomass are undeniably an overall net negative economically, socially, in every possible sense. If the pro-immigration side had done a much better job at filtering out the undesirables, the layout of the arguments might be different, but as things stand if you insist on all immigrants as a package deal, you'd probably be surprised how many people would roll the dice on getting rid of all of them.
Ridiculous argument without merit.
People aren’t upset because “a crime has been committed”. I assume you’re just pretending not to understand, as all leftists are wont to do, but I’ll explain anyway.
Immigrants are a pressure put on a people, especially when they come from distant lands, with ideologies, languages and religions that do not belong.
They depress wages, they raise rents and property prices, they deracinate neighborhoods. This is, of course, the best case scenario, assuming they are legal, tax paying, and job holding.
Now, add to this mass immigration under the guise of “asylum seeking”. Taxpayer money is funnelled into their social housing, which they compete with aged pensioners for. On top of this they get a bunch of other taxpayer-funded perks, which the locals do not.
If you’re going to justify this level of pressure on the working class for the benefit of unvetted foreigners, the least they can do is not cause problems and behave as if they’re grateful to the country that has provided them aid and succour.
But they don’t, do they? They deal drugs out of taxpayer-funded hotels, they rape, steal, and kill.
This is why people are pissed off, not because “a crime happened”.
Actually crazy how every single major IP has been destroyed by the people put in charge of stewarding them, and all mainly for the same reason of giving the finger to fans and using them as vehicles for social messaging
Ban kids from the mall and they'll hang out in the ally behind the mall.
Ban kids from the big social media platforms, the ones that invest the most in safety and moderation, and kids will just go to sketchier platforms.
Governments know this. They only do it to force online IDs.
I don't like Watchmen that much, but I never bought the idea that Moore saw no humanity in Rorschach. Idc what he, his fans or his haters say. Everything involving Rorschach bleeds empathy for his nature and his ultimate fate.
