If you love that Donald Trump is completely melting down after the jury just ruled in favor of E. Jean Carroll, awarded her $5 million in damages, and labeled him a sexual abuser for the rest of human history — he absurdly claims that he has "ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA" who she is — retweet and follow us!
Meghan Markle took the Daily Mail to court for her privacy case AND WON; she asked for a symbolic £1 in damages.
Prince William? Oh Prince William, next King of England, reached a secret agreement and accepted a substantial amount of money.
Guess who is called “money hungry”.
BREAKING: Donald Trump’s trial begins today in the Rape and Defamation lawsuit brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.
What are the Rape allegations?
Carroll claims that in the 1990s Trump raped her in a changing room at a department store by pinning her against a wall and sexually assaulting her for 3 minutes.
What are the Defamation allegations?
Carroll accuses Trump of defaming her during his presidency when he called her a liar and said “she’s not my type.” Additional claims were added to the suit after Trump left office, including Trump calling her a “con job.”
What will Carroll try and prove?
Carroll will try and convince a jury that Trump caused her “significant pain and suffering, loss of dignity, lasting psychological harms and invasion of her privacy.”
The DOJ delayed.
In 2019 the DOJ, led by William Barr, delayed accountability by asking a judge to put the defamation trial off during Trump’s presidency.
The Adult Survivors Act
Because of a new bill that was signed into law in New York in 2022, rape survivors were given a chance to file lawsuits against their alleged attackers. Carroll filed this new suit after the bill was passed.
Today
Jury selection for the trial begins today. The official accusations against Trump are “battery” and “defamation.”
