A new chapter in American history is on the verge of being written right here in Southwest Michigan.

Thanks to President Trump, Energy Secretary Wright, and hardworking Southwest Michigan residents, Holtec has received approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to operate the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert, Michigan. This is a crucial step in Palisades becoming the first re-powered nuclear plant in the United States.

I am proud to have led support for this process in Congress and look forward to a successful Palisades restart in the near future.
