Reading Week may have initiated our 'Staff Readers' promotion, but we plan to continue showcasing our community's love for books. Today, we feature Ms. Akram from the Finance Department, a regular patron of our school libraries.
Ahead of reading week, our House Librarians collated wish lists of new books for their house libraries. Here are a few photos of what the pupils wished for.
Cosy Reading Day in Fisher Library always attracts crowds! Pupils queue for free hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows), settling down in amongst the sofas, beanbags and cushions with a good book and soothing background music. #WAReadingWeek
Garland making has returned for #WAReadingWeek 2024. Miss Smith has been tirelessly cutting out what feels like millions of paper circles using pages out of old books, so that pupils can construct bookish garlands to decorate their dorms with. Hooray for repurposing old books!
We hope everyone has been enjoying #WAReadingWeek so far. We have two more Staff Readers to share with you. Including our very own Head of Libraries, Mrs. Morrisby!
Each boarding house at Wycombe Abbey are appointed a House Librarian from the LVI. This year, Cecily and Sasha from Clarence House, who serve as the School Librarians in the UVI, have kindly contributed an introduction to the team below:
On day two of #WAReadingWeek we have two more stars, also known as: staff readers! Check out one of of our Librarians, Miss Smith; and Teacher of English, Mr. Joyce. Both snapped enjoying their books in Fisher Library.
As part of #WAReadingWeek we have been catching staff reading from across the many teams and departments that we work alongside. See below for our first two readers, with plenty more to come!
Happy Reading Week from the Wycombe Abbey Library. Check out the poster below for all the Library activities taking place during our favourite week of the year! #WAReadingWeek
We are 'buzzing' that the @booktrust have created a badge especially for 'Bookbuzz' schools. Look out for a 'buzz' amongst the UIIIs during #WAReadingWeek! #MyBookbuzz
