The forest: Mount Kinangop hike was a reintroduction to what a forest feels, smells and sounds like. It has silent moments that make you pause, you get the feeling the forest is checking you out. Then the birds strike a conversation with one another.
This forest seems happy with itself. Deep inside I'm grateful its here the experience is unique, the challenges of walking in elephant footprints, wet sticky mud and sweating as I struggle up the high altitude.
Be selective with your energy today. If you can fix a problem, fix it. If you can't, then accept it and change your thoughts about it. Whatever you do, don't invest more energy than you need, tripping over something behind you... or something that only exists inside your head.
Despite the challenges of 2020, we must press ahead to stop inequalities from widening.
