@mattvanswol Chicago is too soft on crime. Track down the attackers and arrest them all. Unfortunately, they will probably all be released due to the Un-Safe-T Act. I think each one should be charged as an adult with attempted murder.

@seanhannity In New Jersey, a Republican has not won a U.S. Senate seat since 1972. I hope Justin Murphy, who claimed the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, defeats incumbent Sen. Cory Booker (D) in November so we don’t have to listen to this type of garbage anymore.

Clarence Thomas explained the Second Amendment in one sentence.

And every politician who talks about what gun rights they are willing to “let” you keep should hear it.

The Second Amendment does not grant the right.

It assumes the right already exists.

That means the government does not give you the right to keep and bear arms.

The amendment tells the government what it cannot do to a right you already had.

Rights first.

Government second.

That is the order.

And once you understand that, every gun law looks different.

Because now the government is the one that has to explain itself.

Not you.

Then Thomas tells a story about Justice Breyer asking what he would do if a man with a machete walked up on his porch demanding money.

Thomas’s answer?

He would be cleaning his guns.

That is why this clip hits different.

He understands it.

The 14th Amendment.

Freed slaves.

While most Illinoisans are squeezed endlessly by inflation and the nation's highest property taxes, a select group of former state employees enrich themselves on a scandalously broken public sector pension system.

The math:

>184 state pensioners now make enough to sit in the top 5% of all U.S. income earners.

>The top 50 retirees took home an average of $437,000 last year alone.

>By the end of their lives, these top 50 will collect roughly $10 million each, 20 times more than they ever paid into the system.

The culprit is A 3% compounding automatic raise baked into the law decades ago, regardless of the state's economic health.

@GovPritzker and some state lawmakers want to expand benefits further, adding another $13 billion in liability.

@NEWSMAX I’m not against data centers, but I don’t want one in my backyard. Most people would probably agree with my statement. Heck, why not put them next to nuke plants across the country? They would have all the water and power needed to run them. Keep them away from residential areas.

@warDaniel47 Research a public road right-of-way, which is a dedicated strip of land controlled by a government entity for public travel, utilities, and infrastructure. If he was standing in the public ROW, they had no authority to make him leave.

The most expensive public school in Chicago is a near-vacant building.

Currently, 54% of @ChiPubSchools buildings are officially "underutilized." Instead of consolidating, city leaders have banned school closures, trapping students in environments in which academic excellence is impossible.

For example, Frederick Douglass Academy has only 27 students enrolled. Taxpayers spend $54,695 per pupil on it just to keep the lights on.

At other schools like Raby High, spending tops $41,000 per student, yet 0.0% of students are proficient in math or reading.

Since 2020, CPS enrollment plummeted by 24,000 students, while the operating budget has skyrocketed by $2.4 billion.

Property taxes crush Illinois families. For what? A $10.1 billion machine that fights to preserve empty buildings at all costs to the total neglect of student achievement.
