That has given me insight on the life partner I desire of God.

As I prayed this morning, I felt led to share this with Christian sisters who desire a relationship and marriage.

While praying, I sensed a disconnection—the kind you feel when God is silent because something needs to be settled first.

I searched my heart, but my prayers remained dry and heavy.

About 30 minutes later, the Lord revealed that I had left a disagreement with my partner unresolved the previous night.

That was it. I’ve noticed this pattern before—anytime we quarrel and I don’t make peace, I become spiritually vulnerable.

This time, it disrupted my fellowship with God. I quickly repented and asked for forgiveness, and within minutes, the burden lifted and the flow of fellowship was restored.

From this, I learned some vital lessons I want to share with you:

1. Marry a God-fearing man

I’m far from perfect, but I love God and His Word.

Please, choose a man like that—a man who fears and depends on God. See what happened to me? A small withdrawal of God’s presence was enough to humble me.

Without God, I’m nothing. And that’s the kind of man you should desire—one who values his relationship with God more than anything else.

When a man fears God, He disciplines him for your protection. I have noticed God usually takes the side of the woman in these cases.

Yes, He goes out of His way to protect you.

That’s why Scripture warns men that mistreating their wives can hinder their prayers both in the Old and New Testaments:

“Husbands, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife… that your prayers may not be hindered.” — 1 Peter 3:7

“You flood the Lord’s altar with tears… because He no longer regards your offering… because you have been unfaithful to the wife of your youth.” — Malachi 2:13–14

2. You cannot wisely choose a man without God

The heart of a man is deep. Forget the trends on TikTok, Instagram, or Twitter.

Let TikTok girls remain TikTok girls.
Let liberal girls remain liberal girls.
Let woke girls remain woke girls.

But you—be a Christian woman. Stay so close to God that He finds you a man.

God reserves His best daughters for His best sons. Trust Him to choose for you.

3. Men can deceive easily

If a man wants to deceive you, you will most likely not see it coming, I can assure you.

Don’t think you can always discern based on outward behavior.

You like calm men? He can act calm.
You hate nonchalant men? He can love-bomb you.
You like kind men? He can fake kindness.
You like progressive men? He can pretend to be one.

Men are natural hunters—we adapt to pursue what we want. So don’t rely on your judgment. Stay hidden in God.

God loves women who fear Him and have gentle, quiet spirits. That is the type He gives to His sons.

“Your beauty should be that of your inner self… the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” — 1 Peter 3:4

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” — Proverbs 31:30

4. God holds me accountable in my relationship

I made a vow before God that I would rather die than fornicate—not just out of loyalty to my partner, but because I long to be part of the New Jerusalem, to eat from the tree of life, and to stand before the Lamb in purity.

I want my name to remain in the Book of Life and my lamp to keep burning in His presence. That’s why I strive to act rightly in my relationship.

I’m not perfect, but I’m being perfected. And I’ve seen that if I mistreat Kenny, God disciplines me immediately—because I’m under His authority.

That’s the ultimate protection you can have in a relationship or marriage: a man who fears God and lives under His rule.

So, dear sister, do you see now why you must choose a man who truly fears God?

Ask Him for one. And choose, follow, and submit to the one He sends.
