β β
That single shake made Lana's face smack itself against one of the plates on the back of Yvette's armor.
β Ouch!
. . .
I mean, harder mommyβ β
β β
βLana,β Yvette gave the woman on her shoulder a short, abrupt jostle, βbehave.β
There were too many people already staring at the sight of one Spartan carrying another down the hall. The commander could not afford any further shenanigans.
Complete silence.
At least, complete silence right up until the elevator doors opened and Yvette stepped out. Even then, it was a change in subject. βYou donοΏ½οΏ½οΏ½t have to meet the expected score today. You just need to make an effort.β
After all, though her main goal had been already been achieved, there was no way in hell Lana would waste such a golden opportunity to 'force' some tangible emotion out of her beloved cupcake. . .
β You okay? β
β
β
Fegining ignorance, Lana somehow managed to resist the urge to laugh, or even look at her partner with one of her signature shitβeating grins.
β What's what? β
She eventually said, bussing herself and her mouth with a fairly generous bite of that moa burger.
Β»
She then suggested, placing the disposable plastic container on the table right in front of Yvette's tray. . .
The III hoped with every fiber of her being that her woman would take the bait, no matter any likely consequencesβ!
β
β
β Right. . . β
Lana took a moment to finish unwrapping her lunch, even going ahead and taking a first sip from her allegedly spiked beverage.
As her lips wrapped themselves around that straw, the III gave her lover a bit of side glance out of the corner of her eye, Β»
dumping fries on everything I try to eat.β An aforementioned fry was lifted, scorned, and then eaten. Her reaction to it was no different than the βmeatloaf.β
hoping to see a more expressive reaction to the fries that, of course, never came.
β . . . β
This prompted Lana to silently roll her skyβblue orbs, right before an idea popped into her devious mind.
β Why don't you at least try this?
You could sure use the sugar. β
Β»
And empty the contents of her fry cup all over Yvette's original choice of food, plus a much needed finishing touch by adding a good, but not excessive amount of salt from a pack included with the meal over the aforementioned fries.
β There.
Now it passes as edible. β
β
β
β YeahβYeah. . .
I better learn how to cook soon in case we ever retire. . . β
Unwrapping her own meal as she spoke, the stubborn III was not going to sit idle and watch her lady eat that garbage only.
Thus, before Yvette could even utter a word, Lana went ahead Β»
βIt meets the base nutritional values required.β Bland as hell or not, Yvette did not seem to mind. A second bite was taken, and her reaction was as neutral as ever. βIt isnβt hazardous.β
What did disappoint her, however, was the selection of tea she had to choose from.
β
And there she sat, right beside her better half.
β Whatcha eating. . .
Oh. β
Lana also instantly recognized that laid on Yvette's tray; it was just as bland looking as the metal it was served on.
β Ugh. . .
How can you even eat that?! β
β
β
Knowing that full well by then, Lana soon made her way to that very spot, plastic bag on one of those gloved, armored hands.
β Hey. β
Said the III before more or less throwing her lunch onto the table; a bacon Moa cheeseburger with fries and what was definitely Β»
β
β Ye. . . β
Sadly, another yawn prevented Lana from finishing her reply.
β . . .s ma'am. . . β
In fact, such was Lana's sleepiness that she would ultimately miss a golden opportunity to make a comment of the sexual kind. . .
Either way, once the laziest of Β»
βFood, then nap.β And there were those decision making skills on display. Not a moment of delay β she actually nearly cut Lana off.
A vague gesture was made toward her computer. βIβm going to read those two emails, then Iβll meet you over in the mess.β
β
β Yeah, but. . .
You're the one qualified to make the decisions in the relationship. β
And that was not a joke, as shown by how deadpan her face and tone were when she made that remark.
β Uh, sure. . .
I mean, we could also go for a quick nap or something. β
β
βYou know more about beaches, soβ¦β A quick, annoyed glance was given to her computer as it chimed again. Ignoring the urge to smash it was a challenge, but she managed to tear her gaze away from it. βWant to meet me in the mess hall in ten?β
β
Another similarly deep yawn escaped Lana right in between Yvette's comments.
β Alright...
I mean, there's like a million different beaches we'll have to choose from, but yeah. β
β
β
β Mm.
Well. . . β
Clearly, Lana's brain wasn't quite working at peak efficiency just yet, as evidenced by the long, drawn out yawn that followed.
β I dunno. . .
Maybe the beach? β
