@mgdm Or, in my case, giving me something that half my geeky friends are obsessed with that I can quite happily ignore until they all get bored of it... ๐คฃ
PS, still on for Dinner next week? x
@gordonjcp Culture/Personality Cults?
You offer a stretch goal to run your latest Blu-ray to VHS, then rip that and sell the rips!
Not gonna lie, I donโt understand people any more, but apparently this was desirable enough that several of my online chums backed the project for thisโฆ
@mdf200 The tech *is* different, yes, but the difference that exposes is different when the input doesnโt match the intended output.
I say this as a person with a Next, who uses it on a PAL CRT, a 1024XVGA monitor, and an Iiyama Pro 1600x1200 panel.
The TV looks much better than XSVGA!
@mdf200 But is based on the native resolution of the shadow mask in the display! So if you use a high res CRT with a low resolution input the actual dimensions of the โblendingโ and โblurโ decrease to a tiny proportion of, say, PAL res on a PAL screen, leaving a digitalesque clarity
@mdf200 Why do people say โCRTโ like theyโre all identical?
The dot resolution is a HUGE factor here, put a next on a 1024x768 SVGA CRT and itโs almost the same as HDMI, the native resolution of the output, bs the native resolution of the display is so important for how blending works
@mgdm We have *three* of them. And they only contain shoes. No LEDs. No records. No retro computers. No 1990s kids toys.
Fuck, I think weโre old now.
@mdf200 And every venue has the right to express solidarity or preference by denying a performer the business to perform there. Itโs not a right to be given promotion, and a stage, etc. thereโs a subtle difference between โgo elsewhereโ and โcancelledโ.
