@MaxLow88168318@SwordofTruth19@SuptEnfield@SteveSisolak @GovSisolak @WashoeSchools One of the things the 2 big districts do with their admin is apply for and administer grants. They also like to throw their weight around trying to dominate the process. The dept of Ed is in the middle of a political tangle of large districts and the Legislature.
@MaxLow88168318@SwordofTruth19@SuptEnfield@SteveSisolak @GovSisolak @WashoeSchools The teachers unions are necessary to protect teachers from all those do-nothing, careerist administrators. Our system puts local school boards in charge. The state allocates some funding on a per-pupil basis and runs some grant programs.
What do you say to your kids’ elementary school principle when she puts more stock in the mental framework of a dysfunctional school district than her more enlightened teachers?
@ValeriaGurr @hufflepufflady The call for school choice is empty if you don’t have a better way of doing school. Simply delivering test prep factories at a lower cost with higher profit doesn’t serve the Hispanic community you claim to care about. The Ed community needs to pull together rn.
The best administrators remember what it was like to be a teacher. The best teachers remember what it was like to be a student.
Perspective-taking is a super power.
@RalstonReports Party membership has been on the decline for a long time statewide and nationwide. Many of us don’t feel that either one represents us. I am anti-war and pro-worker. Neither major party represents that.
