Grok 4.1 is the latest iteration of xAI’s flagship AI model, released on November 17, 2025.
It’s an upgrade focused on making Grok much more usable in everyday conversations, with big improvements in:
• Creative writing and storytelling
• Emotional intelligence and empathy (e.g., handling sensitive topics like grief with nuance)
• Collaborative and natural back-and-forth interactions
• Overall personality coherence, speed, and reliability
While retaining the raw intelligence of Grok 4, it hallucinates far less (reportedly ~3x lower rate), responds faster, and feels more “human” and perceptive to subtle user intent.
Key Highlights from the Release
• On independent blind arenas like LMSYS/LMArena Text Arena:
• Grok 4.1 Thinking mode (for deeper reasoning) is currently ranked #1 worldwide with 1483 Elo.
• Standard Grok 4.1 (fast/non-reasoning mode) is #2 with 1465 Elo.
• It’s preferred over the previous production model in ~65% of head-to-head user tests.
