drivers not yet replaced; eventually will be

[Weijie Su @weijie444]

I made this prediction 3 years ago, in July 2023. Few attending my talk believed me back then.

In retrospect, replace was not quite the right word. AI won’t replace any fields. Instead, it will fundamentally reshape, and is already reshaping, fields by rewarding deep connections to real-world challenges and other disciplines.

kekya conjecture in EVERY dimension? what?! this is huge

[imjustnewatai @imjustnewatai]

OpenAI just dropped four huge results from its secret internal AI model.

1. Math: It solved the Kakeya conjecture in every dimension. Mathematicians had only cracked small pieces before (2D in 2019, 3D in 2025).

2. Computer science: It proved the Exponential Time Hypothesis is false. Hundreds of research papers assumed it was true. Some really hard problems might be solvable much faster than thought.

3. Physics: It proved the theory of the strong force (QCD)—the force holding atoms' insides together—actually works mathematically. Same for a unified version of the Standard Model.

4. Yang–Mills: Along the way, it proved Yang–Mills existence, part of a $1 million Millennium Prize problem.

The math, computer science, and Yang–Mills proofs were all computer double-checked. Top experts are now reviewing everything, including the researchers who proposed the disproved hypothesis and a Nobel Prize winner.

OpenAI says it doesn't want academic credit. The model still isn't public 👀

[Sandro Ambuehl @SandroAmbuehl]

The problem of AI for academic writing, and why you don't notice it in your own AI writing:

AI loves to use vague language. It will produce something that’s consistent with what you want it to say. The problem is that it will also be consistent with other interpretations that you didn’t intend. This confuses readers: which interpretation was meant?

But you won’t notice the problem when you proofread your AI’s output. That's because you’re checking whether the output is consistent with what you meant (which it will be), without thinking about how it could be misunderstood (which we're usually unskilled at, due to the curse of knowledge)

[daixi @DaixiXha]

indeed…elon got no news on ai but he must to something to attract attention…then there it is the jumping car

[LinaHua @Linahuaa]

I'm not an Elon hater.
I'm just telling you the Honest Truth:

This is a marketing stunt.
The technology is quite old.
Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car.
Because it's pointless.

Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them.

It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism.

His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't.

Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall.
This is not engineering genius.
It's marketing genius.

i think a total discard of memory and then restart randomly may not be efficient in compute. basically we want to increase the uncertainty in exploration while maintaining a good thread so far

[Alex Dimakis @AlexGDimakis]

As agents perform AutoResearch they get fixated on their old ideas and do only incremental innovations. We introduce a simple context management trick that forces the agents to forget everything they have done except the best solution they have found so far.
This simple modification in context management allows the agents to get out of their idea basins and come up with more novel solutions.

better tools always result in us doing MORE

[Tibo @tibo_maker]

AI was supposed to make us work less

I've never been this tired in my life

most days I have up to 10 agents running at the same time. one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring something I already forgot I asked for, 3 other I have no idea what they are doing but i suppose i ask it?

and I jump from conversation to conversation all day

compared to 5 years ago, I probably context switch 100x more

by the end of the day my brain is fried. completely toasted. nothing left, not even for the people I love

I call it the fried brain effect

thought it was just me but almost every founder I talk to lately says the exact same thing

we got superpowers, and somehow the pressure only went up. if you can ship 10x more, you feel like you have to ship 10x more. every single day

I don't have a solution

honestly I have no idea where this goes from here

anyone else feeling this?

ai for math

[clem 🤗 @ClementDelangue]

We turned @OpenAI's math problems into open-source RL environments on @huggingface!

Early and rough (the verifier only accepts the exact original formalization, so an equivalent proof can still score 0), but this is what it looks like when a research release becomes executable training infrastructure for everyone.

This is an exciting direction imo: turning open research into open executable environments that anyone can build on to train better open models!
