A Life Well Lived
Had to say goodbye to my mom, Joyce Patterson Dunham, this past Monday, May 6th. Just two months shy of turning 95, she joined my father, whom we lost in 2017, after 63 years of marriage. Healthy and happy until the end, she died peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind me, plus her daughter-in-law, Audrey, and 5 grandchildren, Bree, Ashlyn, Kenna, Jack, and James, plus many nieces, nephews, and other members of our family. My parents adopted me as an infant, and I won the orphan lottery; I couldn’t have been more loved. When I was 8, she helped me tell Santa I wanted a ventriloquist dummy for Christmas, and… Well, thank you for my life, Mom. I love you and I miss you terribly. Say hi to dad for me, and tell him the Cowboys are still trying.
