Norfolk Fishermen Being Bullied Off Their Own Waters for Failing Wind Turbines

This is John, an eighth-generation fisherman. He and his family have been hauling crabs and lobsters out of Cromer for generations. Now a big wind farm company has arrived, forcing them to move all their gear for surveys and pushing them aside as if they don’t matter.

John represents 21 boats and there are many more like them. These are proper family boats, run the traditional way. Not massive corporate operations. Just honest Norfolk fishermen trying to protect the fishing grounds their grandfathers worked.

This is completely wrong. All of this is being sacrificed for unreliable wind turbines with questionable efficiency, massive subsidies, and serious damage to bird populations and our coastline. We’re throwing away real jobs and a proud heritage for green targets that fail to deliver steady, reliable energy.

If we don’t stand up for our fishermen, who will?

While the nation focuses on politics, issues like this are being left behind.

Simon is 6ft with a shaved head and stubble length beard. He has a cross tattoo on his right forearm with the words "Casper James" across it. Current clothing unknown. He drives a Mazda van, picture in the comments.

Police have been informed and are checking locations Simon regularly visits, as well as local hospitals.

You can run with this premise and the conclusion remains absurd.

The UK has rapidly decarbonised already. It has made no difference, because the UK's share of carbon emissions was already statistically insignificant — which is only becoming more true over time.

We could hit Net Zero. We could hit negative carbon. Nothing would change, because China and India exist, and they do not give a damn about our political gestures.

(This is evidenced by their emissions increasing almost as quickly as our political gestures have proliferated, and over the same timeframe.)

No amount of decarbonisation in the UK will make any difference to summer temperatures. This is not an ethical or an ideological point - I like the environment, I dislike excessive heat - it is a mathematical one.

All it does is make us poorer and less able to adapt to the new reality.

A policy of increasing carbon emissions would, paradoxically, improve our climate resilience, because we'd be able to afford basic infrastructure like air conditioning while adding nothing of note to global emissions.

The only reason this is not widely accepted is that political environmentalism is a virtue cult. It has no interest in climate science, it has no interest in tangible outcomes, it is entirely concerned with allowing mediocrities to play act saving the world.
