This is Todd “Let’s Roll” Beamer, who died heroically while trying to retake United Flight 93 from Al Qaeda terrorists on 9/11. This is one of the THOUSANDS of street dogs that roamed Istanbul in the Turkey Ataturk built, waiting for the light to change. Local businesses and individuals kept food and water out for the dogs, the city had a program to catch and release them with rabies shots and neutering. During COVID the city put food and water stations everywhere. I shared many a dinner with wonderful dogs that would sit quietly next to my table on patios all over Beziktas.
