Thanks to the awesome team at @DevSpaceSG for organising Women Developer Academy! If you're a woman in tech who is thinking about speaking but are unsure if you are ready, this program brings in speakers and mentors to help you craft your first talk. I picked up some nice tips!
Especially to people in under-represented groups, do reach out to local and international communities to find speaking opportunities. Your story is important and there are definitely people out there who want to hear it. Speaking also makes you a better communicator!
Tomorrow is my 7 year Googleversary, and I've been thinking about what I wish I knew back then, specially about diversity and inclusion and here are my musings on the subject:

Diary of a Sad Woman - why I hate COVID. Sun, Oct 15th - my brother picks up my mom who has just spent 2 weeks in Florida staying with my aunt post uncle’s death. Mom/dad had both attended my uncle’s funeral 2 weeks earlier. Mom comes back feeling sick.
NumFOCUS found I violated their Code of Conduct (CoC) at JupyterCon because my talk was not “kind”, because I said @joelgrus was “wrong”.
This sets a bad precedent.
Joel was not involved in NumFOCUS’s action, was not told about it, and did not support it

“I never treat a high school student differently than a postdoc.” ➡️ More of this in #academia. 💙 Thank you @VirusesImmunity, you make the world of academia a little less intimidating. #WomenInSTEM
✨🧠 The ecosystem that has grown up around @TensorFlow in the last few years blows my mind. There's just so much functionality, compared to some of the other, newer frameworks.
👉Consider this an ever-expanding thread for me to take notes + wrap my brain around products. Ready?
I spent the last few weeks getting my #PyTorch code working on TPUs, so I thought I would make a short thread with tips that might be useful to people wishing to do the same. 🧵🔦 🔥
