📈 Does geopolitical risk always discourage innovation?

New research from XJTLU finds the opposite may be true. Studying 958 Chinese listed firms, researchers discovered that when major overseas customers face rising geopolitical risk, supplier companies often increase their R&D investment rather than pull back.

The findings reveal how uncertainty can become a catalyst for innovation, particularly in high-tech industries and globally connected supply chains.
