The Monero Community is harsh and unforgiving and im grateful

I originally raised money from donators to make https://t.co/Lc1JZErjIA not knowing what I was doing nor ever having hired developers, knowing how to evaluate technical work and in all fairness I had never made anything before

The goal was to make it easier to find places people can spend their XMR. Development was difficult, working relationships became strained and some fell short of expectations with some coming to an end

After the original dev mark (co-host of @MoneroSociety) put out v1 and I began to research all the places that accepted monero it was far and few between. We raised to make a website that in practice did nothing of value because nearly 0 merchants accepted monero

Thus began my pivot to xmrhub. All information about monero was spread about and made harder than it needed to be. My goal was to help onboard businesses and every day people with this site

Development began with the same dev from v1 of xmrmap after I spent months on canva trying to figure out how this site should look and sent it to him

We launched the site in December of 2025 and I was beyond excited as I saw this as a very important milestone in adoption and helping the next generation of people getting into xmr

Looking back I understand how people would see it as a grift or scam. The digs really got to me, month after month I poured money into my developer trying to get the website I always dreamed of and would’ve killed for when I first learned of xmr in 2021

We even eventually rebuilt from 0 and relaunched @XMRmap. It sits there till this day waiting for merchants to accept XMR so we can get them listed. Fully fulfilling the mission we set out to do from day 1.

The digs of “vibe coded slop” “grift” “scammer” hurt because I kept pouring money into the ecosystem I was building and it seemed like it was all for nothing. I eventually got so frustrated and angry that I picked up my own cross and learned how to develop myself as the saying “mav hasnt built anything” pissed me off

So i dripped my toes in the water of development not expecting anything especially because I gave up learning how to code back in 2021 after pivoting to becoming a real estate agent

I ended up finally making what I dreamed of for over a year. @CR1337 @DontTraceMeBruh @MgkMshrmBrkfst and others were right with what they said, it stuck with me! I was an idiot and couldve saved so much money, reputation damage and couldve boosted adoption if I wouldve just built it myself from day 1. I blame no one but myself for this entire thing and the hate I get I fully understand because it all boils down to the fact that if you want something done right, you must do it yourself. I am beyond proud of https://t.co/624Qq5zEAJ and I work on it day and night shipping updates and Ive never been happier. I catch myself forgetting about X and missing messages all the time because of how passionate I am about this site

I see it as a vital stepping stone wider adoption from retail, bitcoiners, solana kids etc and everyone not in crypto to get into XMR then eventually have them accept monero at their business which…. Drum roll please…. Gets listed on https://t.co/Lc1JZErjIA 😁

If any donators arent happy with what is live right now, how we got to this point or with how much time and effort was spent. I will offer them a one time refund from my own pockets. My mission to this day is to boost monero attention, adoption and protecting it from being hijacked.
