A major wildfire in the Cairngorms National Park has forced Police Scotland to declare a major incident in the Highlands of Scotland.
Nethy Bridge village has been fully evacuated, with access roads closed and exclusion zones in place. Popular tourist areas, including Loch Morlich, Glenmore, Abernethy Forest and Cairngorm Mountain, have also been shut due to the extreme fire risk.
Heavy smoke has drifted up to 60 miles away, prompting air quality warnings for parts of Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. Authorities are reminding the public that all fires and barbecues are currently banned across the national park.
Italian fascists spent 20 years demonising pasta as unmanly & un-Roman.🤡
So the Cervi family celebrated Mussolini's fall in 1943 by serving macaroni to their entire town.
Six of the Cervi sons would be executed by firing squad months later.
Eat pasta on 25 July. Remember why.

The why isn't Andy Burnham being honest about the climate and ecological emergency, and the serious challenges it poses to the UK?

After all this report is by the UK Intelligence Services and is on the UK Govt website.
"Global ecosystem degradation and collapse threaten UK national security and prosperity. The world is already experiencing impacts including crop failures, intensified natural disasters and infectious disease outbreaks."
Look at the dates given, this is not some far off future threat.
"The resilience of human systems to ecosystem degradation is moderately uncertain and the wider geopolitical context out to 2030 and 2050 is highly uncertain."

Heatwaves across the UK are intensifying thanks to climate breakdown.
But gov has nothing in place to prepare. Workers shouldn’t bear the cost. We demand:
📢 A national max working temperature
📢 A heatwave furlough scheme
📢 A climate action plan

"Welcome to sewage-on-sea: Britain's most fashionable tourist hotspot Whitstable is being despoiled by floods of effluent pouring into the ocean, just as the taps in homes and businesses run dry."
People in Whitstable and Kent really do get it from both ends, your sewage is dumped on to local beaches and your tap water gets cut off simply because the water company can't keep your supply running. Bloody hell.

Silent vigil, clear message.
Canford incinerator will belch CO2 and pollutants 24/7 for 40 years on Canford Heath near homes, workplaces and schools.
The future is reducing, reusing, repairing, recycling.
