@joannachiu Just out of curiosity do you know why Kashmir is majority Muslim state? My friend's Hindu family was driven out of Kashmir. Hindu's were driven out of the land created for Pakistan. You might want to learn the history before pretending like you know what's going on.

@SaskiaHomer @richarddmorey What a nice adviser you had. I fired mine because he was verbally/emotionally abusive, wasn't paying my stipend, and made fun of my religion (amongst other things). All right before Covid. Leaving to work is looking like the best (most sane) option.

Usually journals have a max count. Producing crisp argument in < words is good. There aren't awards for verbosity.

@clvr_suzy @AcademicChatter Yes, be careful where you apply. I am in nightmare situation now. I was sponsored and adviser ended up being verbally/emotionally abusive, isolating, and made jokes about my religion/nationality. I replaced him, the school didn't reprimand him, & I'm still picking up pieces.
