This week year 1 are looking at time. We had great fun completing timed activities such as star jumps, cube towers, writing names and numbers... How many can you do in 1 minute?
In maths, the children have been learning about money. They enjoyed working in pairs, discussing the similarities and differences between each coin and ordering them in size and value.
In science, the children planted cress seeds. We are excited to taste the cress once it grows.
As part of our Science this week, Year 1 went on a walk around the local area to identify different types of plants. We found lots of wild and garden plants.
Year 1 have made a fabulous start on their shoebox habitats. They have thought carefully about how to create the background for the habitat of their chosen animal. Great start!
This morning, the Y1 children took part in a live Zoom call with the author, Sophy Henn. They thoroughly enjoyed the draw along copying the characters from her fabulous new book, Happy Hills. #sophyhenn#happyhills ππππ
The Y1 children had to plan and follow precise instructions to help MouseBot and BeeBot reach different animals. Brilliant work, Y1! ππππ @ChandlersRidge
The Y1 children have had a wonderful day at @RSPBSaltholme. Here is a snippet of our fantastic day learning all about pond minibeasts and birds.
