Rio Tinto blew up the sacred site Jukkan Gorge. Rio has now donated $2million to the YES campaign. What’s more appalling than the guilt money being donated is the fact that it was accepted.
Read how the YES campaign turned to custard.

@BernardKeane Once again the inescapable truth is that all the political players led by the major parties must stand condemned by the gravy train of political donations on which they are all happy passengers. Australia, bit by bit, donation by donation edges closer to the American model.
For a federal integrity commission to do its job we need to be prepared for a process that recognises that most corruption is not criminal.

Zali’s problem is not that she’s done anything corrupt. She’s totally failed to live up to her own integrity and transparency standards. Zali disclosed the $100,000 donation because she got caught not complying. @zalisteggall should stop covering up, fess up and apologise @abc730
Lots of questions about blind trusts in the wake of the Zali Steggall $100k undisclosed donation. Are blind trusts ok? Definitely not. Nor are donations from entities. Nor are donations over $200. Simple.
@platozkv Yes. It’s 100% spin. Zali should fess up, apologise, promise not to do it again and support my reform plan which will come down hard on all political players.
Zali’s $100,000 is not only undisclosed. It was deliberately and skilfully hidden. And it’s coal money. So much for Zali the integrity campaigner. No amount of explaining will make this go away.
@_JamesMeldrum@BernardKeane@zalisteggall No it’s not ok. It’s wrong and needs to be called out. And what Zali Steggall has done is wrong. Laws need to be changed accordingly. It’s not enough just to call it out. It needs to be stopped by law.
@wallum73@farrm51 Again- two wrongs don’t make a right. It’s time to put the broom through the whole system. Demolish and rebuild. No one should escape. Not even Zali Steggall.
@poliphobe Zali. This is spin, spin, spin. Look - the $100k donation to your campaign was split into 8 smaller donations. This is an old trick. It’s a charade. You should just fess up, apologise, not do it again and get on board with my fundraising reform campaign.
@human4good The answer is to ban donations about $200. Make political parties do what many charities do - raise money from many small donors rather than a small number of large donors.
