Everybody should always be held accountable for their actions. The farmworkers’ movement lives on through the effort of thousands of activists that worked together to uplift our local communities. Today we thank the thousands of unseen voices that shaped our society.
The farmworkers' movement was always bigger than just one man or one person. Given the horrendous allegations that were made public for the first time yesterday, this is a welcomed change.
Thank you, @CASpeakerRivas and Senate President @MoniqueLimonCA, for your leadership.
If you are in the New Haven region and are willing to stand in solidarity for Gun Safety, we will see you on February 20th on the New Haven Green at 4:00 pm.

Any restriction on the freeflow of ideas is a threat to freedom of speech everywhere. Government institutions should not be weaponized against criticism of our leaders, especially as our “leaders” fail to protect us. #Democrats#midterms#freedomofspeech
The Yale College Democrats do not stand for this behavior. We must support leadership that serves the American people! and does not tear us apart. Let’s remember this harmful rhetoric when we are choosing our NEXT leaders!!!
Donald Trump’s vile, disgusting post about Barack and Michelle Obama is beyond offensive. This man is and always has been a deranged and hateful racist. He needs to apologize to the Obamas, who–by the way–are much better people than he can ever hope to be.
Yale Dems is excited to welcome Jay Carney for an in-person conversation on Thursday, 4/6! Mr. Carney previously served as Press Sec. to Pres. Obama and is now the Global Head of Policy and Communications for Airbnb. RSVP at https://t.co/v9kYittVz3 💙 Hope to see you all there!
Yale Dems is excited to welcome Gary Locke - former Gov. of WA, US Commerce Secretary, & Ambassador to China - for a virtual speaker event on Thursday, 3/30! RSVP at https://t.co/b53bis63AN 💙 if you'd like to join us via Zoom, go to https://t.co/bZdQO3rwlo. See you Thursday!
Yale Dems is proud to support the efforts of Local 217 - UNITE HERE as they defend Hartford’s hotel workers. We’re eager to see @GovNedLamont and Hartford City Council take decisive action.
As @hartfordhilton banquet worker Kim said, "If the Council approves the plan as it currently stands then most of us will lose our jobs forever."
We call on @GovNedLamont - don't give developers taxpayer money to fire us!

With an overwhelming bipartisan vote, the Connecticut Senate has approved legislation to #EndPrisonGerrymandering for the first time ever!
Now, the House must vote to send SB 753 to @GovNedLamont. CT cannot miss this historic opportunity to defend democracy & racial justice.
"Prison gerrymandering stems from two of the most critical political issues of this era: systemic racism and suppressed voter representation."
Read more from Theo Haaks in today's @yaledailynews and ask your rep to support SB 753.

The Dems were proud to celebrate the passage of the For the People Act (HR 1) with @mawaldman tonight. The Senate must act to protect the right to vote for every American.
“The For the People Act would ensure that the freedom to be heard in government – whether as a constituent, a voter, or a candidate – is the same for everyone, regardless of race or wealth," said @mawaldman.

On #HolocaustRemembranceDay we honor the 6 million Jews murdered & millions of others victimized—including many LGBTQ people—by the Nazi regime.
The horrors of the Holocaust continue to haunt us, & it's clear our work combating anti-Semitism & hate is far from over. #WeRemember
