If ASST hits $2 tomorrow, I’m opening a bottle of Screaming Eagle tomorrow evening and will invite one random follower who likes and reposts this to join me for a complimentary steak dinner.
@talkSPORT shameful of @alanbrazil to refer to @GibraltarFA fullbacks as monkeys. If this was a low tier amateur team drawing against a premier league club they would be lauded as heroes. Show some respect to the players. #gibraltar
@tord74@hellierd True, but time will tell if it impacts. FFP will be 5yrs as from next year in PL so this strategy is short term. Would be interesting to see what contract Newcastle offer him, ironic if it’s 6+1! Dangerous move to make so close to the end of the transfer window!
@tord74@hellierd We also have team and individual salary deflators built into the contracts. The way wages are going out contracts could be quite low versus the average thus making it easier to agree for a player to move. It’s not an 8 yr contract party, you have to earn the increases
@tord74@hellierd All clubs have players that do not work out. Chelsea will have a few I am sure. Also, the days of FFP will disappear soon. The Saudi League will adversely impact the competitiveness both on the field and financially. There is even talk of a Saudi team joining the champs league!
@tord74@hellierd Surely that’s the same at every club. No one wants to buy a bad player. True we will make mistakes but Hall just signed a 6+1yr contract and a month later we have sole for £28m. If he had a year left he would not be £28m.
@chelseayouth Chelsea offer a great pathway for young academy players to turn professional at any level. Not all players will make the first team but many will get opportunities with other clubs. They join our academy to get professional opportunities not just to play for Chelsea
@WorldWideChels It’s £28m plus add ons. Do not know what those are yet. There is only so much clubs will pay for upside on a LB. Can play CM but all prem experience, which is very limited, is at LB.
@WorldWideChels Gallagher wants to stay and will only accept a move to a top 6 club. He only has 2 years left in his contract. The club will sell if they can but it will not be easy. Lukaku is a loss maker and we will only save in salary. Given those issues £28m too good to turn down for Hall!
