There are now as many National Guard forces deployed against protestors in the United States as there are active-duty soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria combined.
#drawingwhileblack hope I didn't miss this! Hi my name's Linnea and I'm half black biracial. I enjoy character design and worldbuilding! Currently in a mental health hospital, so art may be sparse atm, but I'm getting stronger every day! 💪
#HisnameisJustinHowell Austin Police shot this kid and then told protestors to bring his body to them if they wanted medical help. Then they shot the kids carrying him.
@Austin_Police
We won in Iowa because of the unprecedented grassroots effort of our campaign.
Thousands of volunteers knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors in the cold and snow.
I want to thank each and every volunteer who participated in that effort.
@teamil17@ekatmac_ Yes to an extent. The training was ultimately successful, and made the kid great. At the same time, the teacher was trying to make him fail.
I think it is acknowledging the role of sacrifice while critiquing it’s practitioners as sadistic.
@teamil17@ekatmac_ There’s a notion that art is a sacrificial act in a lot of circles (ie starving artist)
The big finale is his greatest work but also an act of self destruction in that it ultimately accomplished the teachers goal
There are people like this in art school
@teamil17@ekatmac_ If ur talkin the drummer movie it was about the price of success in art and the humiliation found in its pursuit I think
Could also critique the notion of cult value in art
@notconnaar @brahkobama The right of revolution, consent of the governed, etc, all require popular contempt of politicians/the state to attack and prevent the establishment of extremist ideologies
E.g. It's fine for supremacists to feel hated when they campaign and propose legislation (see Steve King)
