The Office of the IGAD Youth Envoy would like to congratulate H.E @cherinet_ the youngest ever diplomat in the continent upon presenting his credentials to the @UN Secretary General @antonioguterres as Permanent Observer to the United Nations.

We also would like to further appreciate the immense support and trust placed by Dr @DrWorkneh, the @IGADsecretariat Executive Secretary, on the youth by appointing them in more senior positions. This is a clear demonstration and manifestation of the tremendous goodwill of the institution in believing in youth talent and ability to serve at senior positions and strongly encourage the member states and other RECs to emulate him.

As part of our ongoing efforts to support youth participation in multilateral discussions and the global agenda.

The Youth Envoy will work very closely with Amb @cherinet_ to ensure that our member states include youth in their delegations to the UN meetings as well as sponsor them and champion the implementation of the IGAD Youth Policy 2023.
