You can't expect community support if you're not investing in the community. When local talent is overlooked, athletes will seek opportunities elsewhere. Building a strong presence locally shows commitment, strengthens relationships, and helps change the culture.
Players—believe in yourself. Confidence comes from preparation and betting on you. Talent should be judged by work ethic, not connections. As a coach, I know my players can hoop. Doubt them? Open the gym, sit back, and watch. Stats never tell the full story. I have that player.
Coaches: still have a player 6'4", 195 lb guard — big, versatile, available now. @JordanYarrell

@imjustdriven If you have a player that truly can hoop why is on the development team first of all. If you had a bad team last year every position should be open. Even if he was a walk on. No position should be a lock when you had a disappointing season. Some walk on players should be playing.
@coachdbelfield@CoachArloW@jzie11@AbbeyMBB Coach, I have a 6'4" guard with 2 years of eligibility seeking an opportunity. He’s fundamentally sound on both ends, a gym rat, and highly coachable. He can score from all three levels effortlessly. If you're interested in adding a player like this to your roster, let me know!
You don’t have to be a star to get recruited — but you do have to be a leader.
College coaches are clocking your engagement, your energy, and how you treat your teammates on film long before they look at your stat line.
Find ways to lead from wherever you are on that roster.
@GoodmanHoops Its a absolutely a mess. Paying kids alot of money hoping they will change your program for them to leave after the season. So what do you get out of it? Got kids that just want a opportunity and willing to grind but they get looked down on. SMH....
Coaches have a 6'4 guard who can score effortlessly at all three levels. Smooth jump shot and a mid-range game, he’s a threat from anywhere. Defensively, he’s versatile enough to guard anyone. His incredible work ethic sets him apart, and he has two years of eligibility left.
It's not all about stats!! This coach wasnt worried about his stats but was he fit. If you have a player that would be a fit at another program just having someone speak up for them js even better. Great stats don't always make you a fit, sometimes it the opposite.
@StephenIgoe The crazy thing when kids showed interest in ECU they showed no interest at all at local talent. Guys that are their now from the local area are going there one year and leaving.
@jefeisland@LeVelleMoton I hear complaining about NIL and kids moving but when a kid is trying to get a opportunity and contact a coach he hears nothing from them. These types kids will stay and give 100% to the program. Yes, I agree with NIL but the amount given to some is really ridiculous
I don't understand if you are up by 40 or down by 40 why everyone didn't not get in. These kids bust there butts in practice as well as the ones they get a lot of minutes. Reward them a little by letting get some minutes at least.
