The Gobarau Minaret, built in 1348 almost 700 years ago produced scholars, mathematicians, and poets such as Muhammad al-Katsinawi, Ibn al-Sabbagh, and Makhlūf al-Balbālī, people whose works are still being printed to this day. Unlike you, our history and education did not start when the white man landed on our shores. Katsina is a thousand-year-old city that was regarded as the intellectual capital of sub-Saharan Africa in the sixteenth century.
@deezguy49@damilol90092229 Hausa ethnic identity starts with the language first and foremost which is over 3000 to 4000 years old, then the culture which indigenized Islam in the 12th to 13th century ce. Its just like Ethiopian civilization indigenizing christianity.
All of you should stop wondering. Islam is integrated into our culture.
Every idiot thinks they can get a hit tweet with their oh “genuine concern” over our culture. We are more in tune with our culture than any other group in Nigeria. We can trace everything to the pre-Islamic past and how we enriched it with Islam.
Why don’t you fools ever wonder how Ethiopian culture looks without Christianity? Or how Western European culture looks without Christian influence?
Fake Jews, wanna-be Europeans and pretentious Afro-Israelites in suit and tie are worried about Hausa culture while their languages face extinction within 50-100 years. Be more introspective, your masquerade culture is now just a dying ceremonial charade because you are so ashamed of it.
One of the biggest social issues in your land is how men should pay for their women to have European style hair. This fool has most likely emptied his bank to pay for his woman’s wig before coming on X to farm engagement at the expense of Hausa culture. Your ancestors must be so ashamed of you.
Come to Ƙasar Hausa in Northern Nigeria and Niger Republic and you see culture that can be traced more than a thousand years. We visit your domain and we see suits and ties, a foreign language and foreign mannerisms less than 200 years old in Africa.
Next time don’t wonder what Hausa culture looked like before we intentionally indigenized Islam. Worry about what your own culture has become after colonially imposed Christianity.

It's funny that the people in the British Isles worshipped other gods before Christianity was brought to them, yet there's no shame for a British person to boast a “foreign religion” from Asia imposed by the Romans over a European religion of the Vikings.
Yet we have different standards for Africans (especially Muslims) choosing a “foreign religion”.
Islam has erased our culture but didn't erase European culture?
Europeans indigenised foreign Christianity that was imposed on them, but Sahelians can’t take foreign Islam that was voluntarily adopted without force?
Christianity in Etheopia and Islam in the Sahel is like Christianity in Europe or even Bhuddism in China.
One of the most disrespectful things they say to Hausa people is “seperate your identity from Islam” or “Islam erased Hausa civilization”.
Islam was a primary ingredient in the very formation of Hausa civilization. It didn't erase Hausaness; it gave it a new structure. Ƙasar Hausa came in contact with Islam through north african traders and Hausa merchants accepted it. The kings of city states like Kano and Katsina adopted Islam as a court religion, creating a new prestige culture. The Kano Chronicle records the Wangarawa bringing books and promoting Islam supported by the king, leading to the construction of mosques and refining Islam in Kano. This was a voluntary, strategic adoption not colonial imposition.
Comparative perspective: Ethiopia and Rome.
Ethiopian identity is completely unintelligible without its Christianity. No one would tell an Ethiopian Christian that their faith is a foreign Arab or Roman imposition that erased their “true” Ethiopian self. Because the adoption was ancient, voluntary, and became a defining source of national identity against external pressure.
In Rome; we call the result “Christendom,” a distinct phase of Roman and European civilization, not the death of Roman identity.
This is the exact lens through which we view Islam in Ƙasar Hausa.
The Title of Sarkin Arna (Chief of the Pagans): In the hierarchical political structure of the Hausa kingdoms, particularly in Kano and Katsina, there existed an official title called Sarkin Arna. This was a chief appointed by the Muslim Emir, whose specific job was to administer the affairs of the Maguzawa community.
The development of Ajami writing of Hausa language in Arabic script wasn't a replacement of Hausa with Arabic; it was the enrichment of Hausa civilization, a vast corpus of Hausa poetry, history and statecraft was recorded in Ajami. The Arabic script was used to give written form to the soul of the Hausa people. An illiterate person in Hausa is jāhili, linked to pre-Islamic ignorance. To be literate is to be part of the umma, but the medium of that literacy became uniquely Hausa. This is identity formation, not erasure.
One of the world's oldest and most powerful civilizations; Persia (Iran), adopted the Arabic script for their language, this did not erase Persian identity. If one mocks the Hausa for Ajami, one must also mock the Persians for the script of the Shahnameh.
Some of our brothers in the south complain about the “Arabic” on the Naira. “Why is Arabic on our currency when English is the official language?” The Ajami script on the Naira is not a symbol of Arab imperialism; it is a monument to our indigenous African civilization. And the Latin script they defend as “neutral” or “Nigerian” is, by their own logic, a foreign import from ancient Asia.
The Latin alphabet you are reading right now is not indigenous to Europe. It was adopted from the Greeks, who adopted it from the Phoenicians, a Semitic civilization from Asia (much like Arabic).
Rome and Britain adopted a “foreign” religion and writing script (Christianity and phoenetic script) just like Ƙasar Hausa.
Islam does not erase our civilization it forms it and we cannot seperate our identity from Islam.
Hausa Muslims, Hausa christians and traditionalists are Fully Hausa.

What is the veracity of the story that Sadiq Sani Sadiq is planning on organizing a protest? That man is softly becoming a menace to the wellbeing of our society. The last time Protest was held, Properties were destroyed, lives were ruined and our security formation was compromised. One would have expected those unfortunate events to serve as a cautionary tale for all concerned.
Time and again, our revered Sheikhs have admonished against such gatherings, emphasizing the potential consequences they may precipitate. Yet, despite these repeated warnings, there appears to be a renewed determination to proceed with another demonstration.
What assures him that this proposed protest will not degenerate into the same chaos, destruction, and security breaches that characterized the previous demonstrations? We need to look at the broader implications such actions may have on public safety, social cohesion, and the collective wellbeing of society.
We had to beg you people to lend your voices for the kidnapped children in Borno.
See how easy it was to make this topic of other people’s marital affair trend
Then tomorrow, it will be “nobody cares about the north”🙃
@heisblitz@AfricaFirsts This is Malle (Mali) empire, it is not Fulani in any way 😂
This is Mandinka from Sundiata Keita to Mansa Abubakari & Mansa Musa; the Great mosques and palaces of Mali from Jenne, Gao & Timbuktu. The Architecture of Songhai is Zarma nothing Fulani about any of this.
Parasite 😂
His country was one of just 3 to vote against today's UN resolution to recognise the Transatlantic slave trade and chattel slavery of Africans as a historical crime against humanity.
They just voted against our ancestors, but they care about us you see🥹
Whenever you wake up...
@UzairuMarxz@homieumar@Jikan_Katuma They appear as such but don’t identify as Hausa. They create Fulani exclusive organizations and Fulani only meetings. They propagate a campaign to erase Hausa ethnicity claiming Hausa is just a language not ethnicity. They always favour Fulani for political leadership
Niger’s battle for control of its uranium resources intensifies as the junta takes charge of the Somair mine, long held by France’s Orano.
