Truly don't know how, but TMC just dropped a masterclass in urban planning by approving a massive data centre right in the middle of a residential zone and next to a school.
This NEEDS to be a case study for other cities. Peak genius.

@In_Sane_Saint Because they get incentives for accepting rides. And uber pays them peanuts. That's why rapido is working better for now, coz they are burning VC money, but don't think it will go on for long.
Ever heard people from Tokyo justify that the city receives the most and highest magnitude earthquakes, so it's 'natural' for buildings & infrastructure to fall? No right?? Then why tf do Mumbaikars keep justifying "no other city receives rainfall like Mumbai" for urban flooding?
There is a new scam by @IndiGo6E these days.
When you web check-in, they don’t show any free seat options to select.
If you skip seat selection and choose auto-assigned seating, they say you'll receive your boarding pass by email around 4 hours before departure. In my case, it never arrived.
When I called customer care to ask why the boarding pass wasn't sent, they told me that auto-assigned seating can only be done 12 hours before departure. If it isn't assigned by then, the airport has to allocate the seat. They also said they have no way to contact the airport.
So you are forced to reach the airport at least 1 hour early for physical check-in. If you arrive close to the check-in cutoff, they may refuse to issue a boarding pass and say you missed the check-in deadline.
Technically, there are no FREE seats for web check-in.
Everybody is out here scamming common people because apparently there’s nowhere for us to go and complain. Well done!
Mr Kant, I worked from home on Friday purely to avoid BKC traffic, which makes me part of the problem you’re trying to solve.
I have nothing against public transport. I’ve jumped on and off moving local trains in my younger days. But the crowding and chaos today genuinely makes me nauseous.
Give Mumbai something like Singapore MRT or Hong Kong’s train system or London’s Tube that’s clean and dignified and I’ll happily leave the car home every day.
The way most people are forced to commute right now is beneath the dignity any city owes its citizens, especially those of us paying our taxes sincerely and asking for little in return.
Do they see it like a museum or theme park that just has to be experienced but not actually lived in? How does everyone who’s even traveled to a neighbouring country like Sri Lanka not come back with a renewed vigor to demand more of our government? (2/3)
What do you call this phenomenon of Indians visiting countries with better public transport, cleanliness, civic sense, and safety but not aspiring to it or expecting our systems and environment to be so? (1/3)
You've paid for a hotel room you won't sleep in because you landed at 7am and check-in is at 2pm.
You've wasted 6 hours in an airport lounge waiting to access a bed you're already paying for.
There's a better way most travellers don't know exists.
