Taking Climate-Smart Agriculture to Communities Through the Power of Radio
Throughout this week, Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO Uganda), in partnership with the @YCCUganda and @farmradio , is undertaking a nationwide radio engagement across Uganda to advance conversations on Circular Regenerative Agriculture (CRA) and strengthen youth participation in climate-smart agriculture.
Spanning 12 regional radio stations across the country, this engagement will bring together agricultural experts, broadcasters, youth leaders, and climate practitioners to share practical knowledge on regenerative farming practices that restore ecosystems, improve productivity, reduce production costs, and create green economic opportunities for young people and farming communities.
Community radio remains one of the most effective platforms for reaching rural communities with practical and accessible information. Through these discussions, we are promoting sustainable solutions such as composting, resource recovery, soil regeneration, biodiversity conservation, water efficiency, and climate-resilient farming systems that respond to the realities faced by communities across Uganda.
This national knowledge series marks the beginning of a broader communication campaign that seeks to strengthen awareness of Circular Regenerative Agriculture while building a network of informed broadcasters, youth leaders, and community champions who will continue driving conversations on sustainable agriculture long after the broadcasts conclude.
At GAYO Uganda, we believe that empowering communities with knowledge is one of the most powerful investments we can make towards achieving food security, creating green jobs, restoring ecosystems, and building climate resilience. By taking these conversations directly to local radio stations, we are ensuring that practical climate solutions reach the farmers, young people, and communities who need them most.

Amplifying Youth Voices for Climate-Smart Agriculture Across Uganda
Throughout this week, the Youth Climate Council (YCC) Uganda, in partnership with Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO Uganda) and Farm Radio International (FRI), is leading a nationwide radio engagement to amplify youth voices in agriculture and promote community-led climate solutions through Circular Regenerative Agriculture.
The nationwide engagement will cover 12 regional radio stations, creating a platform where young people, agricultural experts, broadcasters, and local communities can exchange knowledge, discuss climate challenges, and explore innovative approaches to building resilient food systems. The discussions will focus on climate adaptation, regenerative farming, circular economy practices, youth entrepreneurship, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable livelihoods.
As the national platform for youth participation in climate governance, the Youth Climate Council Uganda recognizes that meaningful climate action begins with informed and empowered communities. Radio provides a unique opportunity to reach thousands of listeners, particularly in rural areas, ensuring that practical knowledge and locally relevant climate solutions are accessible to those at the frontline of climate change.
This engagement is part of the Youth Inclusion in Circular Regenerative Agriculture Communications Programme, which seeks to strengthen youth leadership in agricultural communication while positioning young people as advocates, innovators, and trusted communicators of climate-smart agriculture. Beyond the expert-led sessions, the programme will create space for regional youth organizations to showcase locally driven innovations and inspire peer learning across Uganda.
Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community engagement, we are building a stronger movement of young leaders who are transforming agriculture, advancing climate resilience, and shaping a more sustainable future for Uganda.

The question isnβt whether Africa has climate solutions. Itβs whether the finance system is ready to trust and resource the leadership already rising in our communities.
This is how we move from advocacy to institutional change.
Welcome aboard, @Parliament_Ug Forum on Climate Change !
Today, @YCCUganda is delighted to formally welcome the Parliamentary Forum On Climate Change as our Regional Host Organization for the Central Region through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This partnership marks an important milestone in our collective efforts to strengthen #youth participation in climate governance, promote meaningful engagement between young people and #policymakers, and advance locally led climate action across #Uganda.
As we continue building a decentralized and inclusive #youth climate movement, we recognize that strong partnerships are essential in bridging the gap between communities and decision-makers.
Together, we look forward to creating more #opportunities for young people to contribute to climate #policy discussions, champion innovative solutions, and shape a more sustainable and resilient future.
We are excited about the journey ahead and the impact this partnership will create in empowering young climate leaders and strengthening climate governance in #Uganda.
