I had a long and wonderful day driving around the entirety of Ward 2 streets looking to help people and to gather knowledge about the snow drifts and road/sidewalk conditions. I saw and spoke to a lot of you who were at home shovelling! I expect the majority of you who went to work early on Feb 18 came home to a big white surprise.

I took another drive through our neighbourhood in the evening and noticed our plow team had cleaned up the big roads: Albert, Parliament, Gordon, Lewvan. The private contractors were making progress at commercial and retail lots. As usual, the northwest winds created major drifting on the western edge of Harbour Landing and any streets near open spaces such as parks, schoolyards, and the airport.

Below is the snow clearing plan, the same as I shared last year, for your review. It will take at least a few days to get to all the streets. If you see a city employee working to clear snow, give them a wave or thumbs up. It means a lot to them to experience your kindness gratefulness.

Drivers: bundle up, be prepared with snow rated tires, a snow brush, and a well maintained vehicle.
