It’s no secret what the NHS needs:
- increase bed capacity by 20,000
- increase primary care capacity by 50%
Total cost = ~£12b
Total amount the private sector took out of the NHS last year = £12b
Yes, it’s a political choice!
Conservatives promised 5000 more GPs by 2020 in 2015. Knowing they were failing then promised 6000 by 2024 in 2019
In 2023 there are 2200 fewer GPs than 2015 but remarkably they are providing more appts
UK deserves & requires more GPs, who lack the funding to care for patients
People aren't waiting 40 hours for an ambulance because of industrial action by doctors. They're waiting 40 hours for an ambulance because the Tories are systematically underfunding the NHS.
It's not about whether this years pay award is 6%, it's about the uncompetitiveness of hospital doctor's pay in the UK compared to competitor English speaking countries, the huge impact that is having on keeping expertise, experience and the next generation. This is hurting care.
When people who lie sit in the highest offices of Government we have a huge problem of trust
The strikes did not cause the failure of the NHS, 4.3million people were waiting over 18 weeks prior to 2019
The strikes were & are caused by Government failures
BREAKING NEWS (from FT)
UK Tory govt is set to spend £110bn just on interest payments on our debt this year- about the same as the entire EDUCATION BUDGET.
Our economy has been so badly managed, we are set to have the HIGHEST DEBT INTEREST IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD this year.
😡
The Prime Minister is today boasting about his “recently passed laws”
Now watch this - it’s probably the most shocking video you will see today. Where is the outrage from UK media?
What is this absolute boll**** on Twitter right now? I’m suddenly losing followers whilst GB news races ahead by 20,000! If you think more should be watching my films & reports RT & follow. Let’s make sure the public get the unvarnished facts about this piece of crap Government
Boris Johnson has made Charlotte Owen a lawmaker for life. She has very little work experience of any kind and has no significant achievements to her name. She is now a life peer. I want to know the reason why and I want to know if it was corrupt.
NHS SPENDING - PER PERSON
£3200 ~ Total ~ £9/day
£160 ~ GP Services ~ 45p/day
£320 ~ Medications ~ 90p/day
£320 ~ Private Healthcare providers ~ 90p/day
£1000 ~ NHS /Hospital staff ~ £3/day
Primary/Community care needs a bigger share of funding or it will all collapse
The Government that brought you
- £4bn of burnt PPE
- Unstaffed & unused Nightingale Hospitals
Now brings you salaried pay rises with no income increase for the GP Partners
2000 fewer GPs than 2015
This same Govt promised 6000 more GPs
#GPCrisis
@BMA_GP so where is the plan for GP now partners need to find another 6% from the almost nothing they take home more than their salaried doctors? GP will collapse if we all become salaried.
£1 a week
That’s the average cost to each UK resident of a pay increase for NHS Drs & other staff, to keep them in the NHS, & appreciate their added value to all of us
That’s what the Government has been saying is unacceptable & unaffordable on our behalf
Junior doctors have suffered a massive 26% real terms pay cut since 2008
Having risked their lives to keep us safe during the pandemic Rishi Sunak says they must accept another crappy real terms pay cut or he will IMPOSE it on them
Thats bullying & absolute boll**** to that
I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with @BMA_JuniorDocs
