A re-analysis of Spinosaur skull fossils has found osteological correlates for the salt gland in birds and marine iguanas. This helps provide more support for their near-marine lifestyles. It would've been weird if they didn't have this.

It needs to be realized: by the time Titanis went extinct about 1.8 Ma, it was in North America for >3 million years. To put this into perspective, felids first appear in South America's fossil record in the Ensenadan (at earliest 1.95 Ma).
Gastornis was among the first post KPG dinosaurs to grow to large body size again. Measuring some 2 meters fall and weighing around 200kg, this was one big bird. Its closest modern relatives are waterfowl.
