Then just returned to normal life. I never routinely discussed this show with anyone. I just kinda think about it when I listen to savant. Listening to Earworm prompted me to share this. The good vibes perfectly encapsulate my experience in that 24 hours of madness.
Missed check in for return flight, and wasn't guaranteed a spot on the plane - other people from rampage in same situation. Yet I didn't really give many fucks. I was just still high on what had just happened. Eventually all was OK - I made it back in time.
9 AM flight let's go. Did I mention I have like no money as I'd been taking a break from work for 8 months. Can't afford airport parking. Use an app to park in some random guy's driveway and jog on foot 35 minutes to airport and catch my flight.
Yes. Phew. Let's go. Booked a small Hertz rental car. Spend the next few hours turning the house upside down to find my drivers license and a credit card for the rental car. FOUND. PACKED. SLEEP TIGHT.
My last minute adventure to see @SavantOfficial at Rampage still feels like some surreal dream. Listen to Earworm while you read this thread to get on my level.
There is just no convenient flights to do this. Look out the window at my 2005 ford galaxy that has overheating problems. Sorry old girl, I don't trust you with this task.
End up booking return flights to Charleroi airport. Oh SHIT ITS HAPPENING.
Look over to my wife;
"Hey Laura... do you mind if I go to belgium to see Sav?"
"When?"
"Tomorrow morning"
"... just be back sunday afternoon :)"
omg is it actually happening. Check all possible combinations of last minute flights to every airport in the surrounding area.
BUT IT'S FUCKING SAVANT my goat for the last decade. I've never seen him perform before and it's his long awaited comeback, also spotted @mandidextrous on the lineup who is another on my bucket list. OK it has to happen.
