I agree with all of this! You need worldly problems addressed and shown! It’s the reality of things! But like anything, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it!

Christians are kind of horrible when it comes to uniting and being honest. We insist on our own interpretations. And yes, that includes Catholics and Orthodox as well.

Many people insist on something clean or they won’t watch. But sometimes the desire for clean becomes sterile.

And then we get perfect people in perfect scenarios who could never exist or have real issues. What Christian believes this?

Mind you, we can make escapist entertainment which lacks the problems of the world.

But why can’t we make something real?

Use the rating system. Make something PG 13. Show us a Christian man who struggles with drinking, had a wife who’s having an emotional affair either a man in FB, whose son struggles with porn, and whose daughter is so influenced by school propaganda she thinks she might be gay.

The goal is NOT to glorify these sins, but to be honest about our own. Families aren’t perfect and even Christians have vices.

The point of the movie can be a conflict that draws them closer together and closer to Christ. And as they do so, they become convicted of their sins and break the habit. I dunno, say they did a mission trip in Mexico and their car broke down in a village. As they’re trapped without, they each need to confront their demons, and maybe along the way, help poor Mexican villagers and learn the healing power from good works done in Jesus’ name and the ways that God draws near to us when we draw near to Him.

I work in the comic industry and have set out to do Christian stories! It’s Christian heroes dealing with real world issues like what you’ve listed! And they are far from perfect! Because it’s the Lord who’s the hero!
