My goal here is simple: I want to change 3 major things about how university education works in Africa.

1. The time : The world is moving fast, but our education system still assumes everyone must learn at roughly the same pace.
I don’t believe education should work that way.

If you have the time, ability and discipline to dedicate more hours to your studies, you should be able to move faster. If life requires you to move slower, there should be room for that too.
The focus should be on mastery, not simply how many years you spent in school.

2. The outcome : The goal of going to university shouldn’t just be to leave with a certificate.
It should be to leave with knowledge, proof that you can apply that knowledge, and a clear path towards using it in the real world.
Universities shouldn’t stop at teaching students. They should help students build, work on real projects, gain experience and ultimately turn what they’ve learned into opportunities.
Education should lead somewhere.

3. The process : Education is not necessarily meant to be easy, but it should absolutely be worth it.
And learning shouldn’t require putting the rest of your life on hold.

You should be able to learn from wherever you are, structure learning around your life, interact with your peers and instructors, and still receive a rigorous university education. Not easier education.
Better education. More flexible education. More practical education.
That’s a big part of what we’re trying to build with the new AltSchool Degree.
And yes, the Degree programmes are NUC accredited.

We’ve spent the last few years rethinking how people learn skills.
Now we’re taking on university education.

We towed this car from somewhere in Ondo state and the initial plan was to fix all Mechanical works, the transmission system was bad and the engine wasn’t in a good condition, we were contacted and we responded swiftly 🙂🙂.

The car arrived @DMautosolutions @InsideOsogbo safely

We got another engine and transmission system completely, new set of brand new driving shafts, shock absorbers and some suspension systems, it was difficult to give an estimate for the complete Refurbishment because we couldn’t test drive to detect other faults, the car was towed to the workshop, it was after we had replaced the engine and gearbox we were able to test drive to detect other mechanical parts needed, we did this effectively and communicated with our client.

I’ve been seeing the cars submerged in water because of the recent heavy rainfalls… Let me give us some guiding tips..

It is usually an unprecedented situation as most of us don’t plan to encounter floods or any form of being stranded.

If you happen to find your car submerged unanticipatedly, if the water level at least goes beyond the level of the tyre..

1.) Switch off the engine immediately… Just switch it off

2) Try and go out of the car for your own safety, for cars wired electronically such that the doors or windows may not function because of the water, you can break through the window with your head rest on the car seat, your car seats are designed in such a way that you can detach them, remove it and break the glasses to find your way out

3) If the rain, flood abates, do not try to start or crank your engine immediately, this is where most people have issues with their cars

4) It is important that you try and drain the engine oil immediately and service it at that point, while not making any attempt to ignite or start the engine..

5) Try and leave the car for about 2-3 days without doing anything, just leave it to dry off, if it is on the main road or obstructing traffic, put your gear lever on the Neutral position, for both manual and automatic transmissions and push it off the road, remember, do not try to ignite the car

From experience and a professional angle, you may not have to spend a dime on the car for repairs, the car will come up after 48hours if you do not try to crank it from the inception of the flood or rain.

It might be too much if a sacrifice to wait but it will save you a whole lot of expenses..

Worst case scenario, tow the car to your house or anywhere near that is safe, just do not start the engine and leave it for at least 48 hours..

Most importantly, drain the engine oil after the first 24 hours and have the engine oil replaced before attempting to start or ignite the engine.

I’m A Mechanic, and I know these tips will help.

If there will be any electrical malfunctions, they will be minimal, just leave your car for at least 48 hours.

We picked up this Lovely baby from PortHarcourt for a full Refurbishment and complete overhaul, the car arrived @InsideOsogbo safely, we were to replace the engine, all the suspension systems, electrical works, full interior makeover and complete body works.

We got to work after we sent the estimate to our client and we were given a go ahead, it was going to be an interesting journey and very tasking. We started with the Mechanical works, we replaced the engine, shock absorbers, brake pads, steering rack, power steering pump amongst other vital mechanical parts, we started the new engine and the performance was quite impressive..

I’ve also interacted with students from institutions outside Nigeria, and I’ve seen how their schools use updated curricula and run internship partnerships with global organisations to give their students a better chance. When we inspect vehicles, we are not just checking appearance. We are looking deeper into the overall condition and integrity of the car.

We check for:

Oil, coolant, transmission, or hydraulic leakages

Signs of engine or gearbox tampering or poor repairs

Electrical faults and hidden wiring issues

Accident history, structural repairs, and chassis condition

Signs of mileage rollback or odometer tampering

General mechanical condition to ensure the vehicle is properly inspected before purchase

A clean exterior does not always mean a clean vehicle. Proper inspection is what protects buyers from expensive mistakes later.

I love that our inspector was able to spot it and convey that.
