@RnaudBertrand The west love using big words on their sides to paint them as good guys.
Liberator when they are colonizer
Saviour when they are killer
Women empowerment when they are top rapist in the world
Freedom lover when they support dictactor that support their sides.
@RnaudBertrand This is the scary thing about the US regime: it's able to coordinate massive smear campaigns through its media assets and "NGOs at an astonishing rate. Within hours, a Nepal-born natural disaster and a destroyed Chinese border checkpoint, turned it into a classic China Bad story
This is genuinely shocking and really illustrates how "Human Rights Watch" is much more of a political organization than one that actually cares about human rights.
Read the piece: it doesn't contain a single expression of sympathy for the victims, not one. Last I checked, if you genuinely cared about human rights, you'd start by caring about... humans.
The victims are only mentioned in the piece to the extent they can be used as props for HRW's usual crusade against China.
In fact if you read the article you almost get the feeling HRW are relishing in the disaster, grateful for fresh material to rewrite the same "the choreography is familiar" article they publish every time something bad happens in China. They even wrote so themselves.
Worse still, their big beef - apparently - is with China's "information control." Yet in the very same article they actively spread misinformation about the disaster, thereby ironically proving that they're guilty of the very thing they're accusing China of: manipulating information about a disaster to serve a political agenda.
2 ways they do this:
1) they write that the CCTV footage "showing Gyirong Port on the Chinese side of the border overwhelmed by floodwater as people run for their lives is being censored" in China, which is a thoroughly debunked piece of disinformation (see https://t.co/UbreDvxelw)
2) they sow doubt on the origin of the mudslide, describing Chinese visualization of it as "AI-generated materials purporting to show the likely origins of the mudslide." The word "purporting" means that the origin of the landslide is in doubt when that's not the case at all: the scientific consensus is total, it was a glacier collapse on the Nepalese side. For proof, I encourage you to watch this fantastic explanation of it by @mikebettes on the Weather Channel (not exactly "CCP propaganda"): https://t.co/zeVyzMi35o
I mean, ask yourself: how do you even remotely serve "human rights" by undermining public understanding of what killed people in a natural disaster?
Answer: you don't.
You serve what HRW actually serves: a political narrative that treats every disaster in China not as a tragedy to understand but as an opportunity to exploit, at the expense of actual humans.
8. Mai - kein Tag zum Feiern! | @DKaufner

BBC has no idea why it lost the trust of viewers.
Everyone in the comments is calling it out for making fake news.
BBC uses a tragedy as a political tool to spew its own China-bashing propaganda, but audiences have been watching China's television and social media broadcasting the mudslides 24/7. They know BBC is lying.
Media in China are bringing critical information to audiences across the whole nation, at the same time making sure the content they show is not further hurting families of the victims.
But the BBC only wants disaster porn to get views; they don't care about anyone who has been affected by this disaster.
