Mrs Deanna Gregory w @childrensatl spoke with our students during Healthcare Day. She talked with them about the the “why’s” of what they want to do when they get older & how important it is to understand those to ensure they make good choices for their education & career paths.

During Healthcare Day our students heard from Mrs. Lori Beth Blaney, founder of @Rachels_Gift, shared her journey & how it lead to starting a non-profit right here in HCo. Healthcare to its fullest reaches beyond the physical well-being & into mental health and spiritual health.

During Healthcare Day our students were able to hear from Mrs. Lacy Dean w Southern Grace Hospice talked with our students about her personal journey through various medical fields and some of the great reasons to get into healthcare. Thank you Mrs Lacy!

While at @ResurgensOrtho this past Healthcare Day our students visited the OR center & asked questions of the Surgeons, NP’s, & Anesthesiologist. They learned how important team work is in all medical fields & who gets to choose the music in an operating room. 🎶👨‍⚕️🕺👩‍⚕️ #TeamWork

This weekend our class attended Healthcare Day at the new @ResurgensOrtho facility on Jboro Rd in McD. It was wonderful to give them the opportunity to see and speak with so many of Dr’s, Nurses, Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and tech’s.

Each month the @Henry_Chamber gives our students the opportunity to join their board meeting to hear how parliamentary procedures work & to meet community leaders. They heard about current working business that helps shape their knowledge of how it all comes together.

To round out our Public Safety Day our students heard from our Henry County Motor Unit, Special Operations Unit, and Canine Unit.

During Public Safety Day our students took a tour of the Henry Co 911 Center & watched the 911 operators take calls in real time. It’s fascinating to watch how they handle the caller & all the officers with such ease as everyone needs to talk to them all at the same time! 🤩

We met the SWAT team and learned how heavy their gear is, the gang unit, narcotics enforcement officers, and the drone surveillance officer.

Yesterday we visited the HCo Sheriff’s Ofc where we met Sheriff Scandrett and were able to experience the simulation training room that allows officers to train in real-life, real-time, situations. 🚔❤️🚨

The friendships & camaraderie gained in our Team Building class is amazing! As each student worked twds zip lining & rock climbing, their classmates worked ea other through fears/challenges so everyone felt comfortable and capable! Communication is key! We are #BetterTogether!

It was interesting to watch our class, split into two groups, troubleshoot and solve the different tasks on Team Building Day.
