At the 21st Extraordinary AU Summit in Luanda, I reaffirmed Ghana’s stance: African ownership of peace and security must be matched by African ownership of its financing.
We must move from words to action to build a sustainable and self-reliant peace architecture for our continent.
This September, I’ll be engaging communities across Suhum and its environs on the dangers of drug abuse and the collective action needed to prevent illicit drug use.

As of 25 June 2026, 89.5 km (50.9%) of the Accra Kumasi Expressway Corridor has been cleared. This milestone was reached in 9 weeks, using just 45% of the estimated project duration. The remaining 86.1 km corridor will be completed over the next 13 weeks.
An update on the phenomenal work being undertaken by the Ghana Armed Forces on President Mahama’s transformational Accra-Kumasi Expressway project.
So far, about 51km of the entire stretch has been successfully cleared.
In June, following assessments by the relevant state agencies, the Ghana Armed Forces will commence the payment of compensation to affected citizens.
Steadily, deliberately, and with remarkable professionalism, the foundation is being laid for what will become one of Ghana’s most strategic and economically transformative corridors.
The progress made so far is truly impressive.
