@BCCI 6/23 vs England, 2003 World Cup. Bowling on a swollen ankle in Durban. Held the record for best figures by an Indian in World Cup history for 20 years. Nehra was different. Happy Birthday.
Klaasen leading the Orange Cap with 283 runs is actually insane for a middle-order guy.
But this cap has always been a bit flawed for judging the best or most impactful batsman. It's basically a volume game, who faces the most balls and piles up runs. Look at Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sitting right there with 246 runs at a crazy 236+ SR. That kid is changing games in 20-30 balls while others grind through 40+.
In today's T20 (especially with the Impact Player rule), strike rate in key phases and win probability matter way more than raw runs. Orange Cap rewards consistency and opportunity not pure destruction. Maybe IPL should think of an 'Impact Batter' award too?
This is RCB's 100th game at Chinnaswamy Stadium - the first team to feature in 100 games at a venue in the IPL. The second on the list is KKR with 98 IPL games at Eden Gardens.

Highest SR in IPL (min 500 Powerplay runs):
• Narine → 792 runs @ SR 176
• Jaiswal → 790 @ 150.76
• Bairstow → 731 @ 148.87
• Shaw → 1267 @ 144.96
• Sehwag → 1568 @ 143.85
KKR has the most explosive opener in the history of the IPL but they aren't opening up with him.
