To the young people of #Rwanda, being young is not enough. You cannot afford to waste any opportunity. Do not let the fear of failure or taking risks stand in the way of who you can be. Claim your rightful place in the world, no one will hand it to you

#Kwibuka32 - âBecoming Inkotanyi today is not only a military inheritance. It is a philosophy. It means you do not wait to be believed. It means you do not ask for permission to remember. It means you understand, in your bones, why collective memory is not sentiment. It is security.â
Urakoze cyane @IngridCyitatire for these edifying words. Indeed, Rwanda with all its scars and all its grief and all its beauty, is worth fighting for.
Banyankore say you cannot outgrow your father's brothers (your uncles). President Kagame is not only my uncle but a mentor as well. I congratulate him on his recent Kwibuka speech! Very inspirational.
On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors.
We must learn from past failures & protect the living â by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.
âa word given cannot be perpetually broken, and the brazen contempt for human lives cannot endure.â No one can argue with this - but above the noise, this is the reality:
The Government of the DRC remains the #1 backer of FDLR, which is an existential threat to Rwanda. No matter how many lies and resources are invested into propaganda to distract from DRC state sponsorship of the FDLR, this problem is not going away.
One-sided sanctions unfortunately only serve to embolden the Government of the DRC in its insistence on a military solution. The result is what we see now: prolongation of the conflict, escalation of violence, lost opportunities and importantly, lost lives
Also not going away is the internal situation in the DRC: the AFC/M23 is fighting persecution based on the policies of the Government of DRC that support proponents of genocide ideology (the recent inflammatory rhetoric by FARDC General Ekenge on national TV is one of too many examples) - this is the root of the extremist ethnic violence which threatens our whole region.
These facts cannot be distorted or overlooked in the search for a solution to the crisis.
The way forward to lasting peace and progress is already laid out in agreements reached in the past year, including the comprehensive Washington Accords, but the DRC appears more interested in continued war than in implementing its obligations in the peace processes.
She pretends to speak for "the African people" in Washington. Yet, she travelled to Kinshasa twice in a year, where she met President Tshisekedi; she accepted a gift from him before cameras, and broadcasted her interview with President Ndayishimiye only on DRC public television (RTNC).
Lately, she was going around at the Capitol with extremely biased questions, displaying her unprofessionalism and obsession against Rwanda.
And today, we are now discovering that she was holding a RTNC microphone at the White House; yet, she had never revealed that she was on Kinshasa payroll.
Someone should have to explain this fraud.
