A glimpse behind the scenes with our SWT/KWS Anti-Poaching project.
From the air, our pilot spotted four fish traps inside the National Park. Upon landing, and opening up the traps, the team discovered several terrapins and freshwater crabs caught in the traps.
Constant vigilance is key when it comes to wildlife protection. Our monitoring patrols take place across critical conservation areas in Kenya, including the Tsavo ecosystem, home to the country’s largest elephant population. All wildlife benefits from these monitoring patrols, from the biggest pachyderms to the tiniest terrapins!

💖🌼 Natural beauty is the truest beauty! She washed off her makeup and intentionally appeared "ugly" in front of hundreds of celebrities to prove a point... that she is beautiful!🤫
Mandy Patinkin is an incredibly brave Jewish man. You can hear the heartbreak in his voice every time he speaks about what’s happening to Palestinians. He cares so deeply, and he refuses to stay quiet about it. Protect this man at all costs. ❤️
Kaikai has earned herself a new nickname: Little Disturbance. She’s taken to dashing back from the bush whenever she feels like it, trumpeting loudly as she runs and making quite an entrance. Bungalu, by contrast, is patient and never rushes anywhere. As usual, it’s Kaikai’s world and we just live in it!
Kaikai and Bungalu are two of the youngest orphans in our care. Both will remain with us until they are ready to reclaim their place in the wild – a process that may take upwards of a decade.

‘NAZA’, a film about Israel’s genocide in Gaza won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
Co-director Yuval Abraham said Israeli officers described the mass killing of Palestinians as ‘not by accident, but by design’, and accused the US and Europe of enabling it.
Wildlife selfies, elephant rides and other close encounters marketed as unforgettable travel experiences can fuel the capture, breeding and exploitation of wild animals.
“What looks like a memorable experience for travelers likely comes with a lifetime of suffering for the wild animals involved,” says @humaneworldorg.
Humane World for Animals is urging travelers to choose animal-free entertainment, keep a respectful distance from wildlife, avoid photo encounters and skip souvenirs made from wild animal parts, all choices that can help reduce demand for wildlife exploitation.

Looks like Kaikai has decided her mud bath is too small, and she’s found the tool to fix it!
Rescued last May in the Maasai Mara, Kaikai was only days old when she lost her mother. Since then, she has grown into a beautifully bossy and delightfully spoiled little calf at Kaluku – the kind who supervises the daily milk-mixing from her own patch of yard, trunk shaking and ears flapping until her bottle is ready.

Israel has said that paper kites flown by Palestinian children will be treated as weapons of war.
Read that again.
This is the reality of genocide: the total destruction of innocence, freedom and joy.
End all military cooperation with Israel, now.

Midnight snacks for Kaikai and Bungalu! Enjoying an after-hours jaunt, they wasted no time in tucking into the tasty treats waiting outside their bedrooms. Tummies extra full, it was back to bed for our adorable, pyjamaed pair.

This World Elephant Day, Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Northern Kenya is marking ten years of second chances 🐘
Since 2016, this Indigenous, community led sanctuary has rescued 170+ orphaned calves and helped four herds return to the wild.
New best friends. 🐘💛
Rescued from the Maasai Mara at just days old last May, Kaikai has grown into a confident young elephant. This year, she welcomed a new companion: Bungalu.
From sharing peaceful moments on the riverbank to sandy lounging sessions, these two are rarely far apart. Watching them spend time together is a beautiful reminder of the friendships that help our orphans heal.
